Warns about inadvertently using parked pages when you’ve just bought a new domain name and it auto points to the parked pages of the company you registered the name with because you are using their nameservers by default. http://davezan.com/2007/domain-registrar-parking-pages-2-reasons-not-to-use-themSame goes with using free DNS with certain companies like mydomain.com.  If you point your new name at
mydomain.com servers, but haven’t set up the domain in your account with them, it will default to a parked page.

Thanks for the links! I hadn’t seen Dave Zan’s blog before. In the comments section of his excellent post “Article on Domain Name Theft” http://davezan.com/2007/article-on-domain-name-theft-a-few-add-ons/ there’s a story from a guy who had a domain snatched recently. What’s especially disturbing is the part about how GoDaddy handled it. I think enough attention to this story might get GoDaddy to scrutinize the case and possibly also take steps to prevent it from happening.

Sendori looks like a great business model…

They look like a possible helpful ‘Google killer’…this ad model has to be much better for advertisers than Google Adwords…on a lot of levels.

This model can also help accelerate the learning curve of many company’s… because of the current ‘disconnect’ between them and what the value of good generic domains can bring to their business.

    I say ‘rock on’ Sendori!
